The Learning Curve Podcast - THE Podcast for Women
Entrepreneurs in the Middle East.
Yes.. Everyday Leen goes home feeling happy she is making a difference in a young persons life. She's the founder of the Algerian connection for Injaz Al Arab, is a non-profit organization that drives youth education and training in workforce readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship across the Arab World.
Leen has been with the organisation since 2000 but it was her move to Algeria in 2010 that took all her skills and training to the next level when she decided she wanted to start Injaz in Algeria.
Injaz is Arabic for 'Achievement' and it has also been a particular achievement for her too. She moved to Algeria and had to build Injaz El Djazair from the ground up. She had no key relationships within the private or public sector, she couldn't speak the language, and although she had been with the company 10 years [at this point] she was now taking on not just marketing but all the facets of starting a business. Needless to say she become frustrated and want to give it all up! But a chance meeting with ambitious business professional and getting over her own fears, she stepped up to the challenge and today Injaz El Djazair reaches 6000 students across 10 cities. Her BIG vision is to reach all 48 cities in Algeria and to see the Injaz curriculum part of mainstream school.
This is Leen's story.
