On March 1st for 7 days, 44 Expat and Emirati Women will recreate history and walk in the footsteps on their Emirati ancestors.  Their achievement will be walking the 120km between Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.  A journey that was done twice a year by the Emirati ladies not so long ago.  These ladies will take on this journey led by Jody Ballard, the vision and creator of this journey.  this is the interview with Jody who tell us what is about and what it signifies.

Jody Ballard is the Founder and driver behind this inaugural Women's Heritage Walk 2015.  She's on a mission to help us rediscover the heritage of the Emirati women and connect with the culture as well as finding our own inner brilliance.  She says, 'culture is assimilated' and its true. We all become part of a bigger community when we connect and understand each other more. We are more emphathetic to people and their issues.

The walk that starts from Al Ain and ends in Abu Dhabi honours the Emirati Women, who not too long ago made this bi-annual trek.  44 Expat & Emirati Women will make this historical journey and walk in the shoes of their Emirati ancestors to celebrate a past and help shape a vibrant future.

*This event is closed to new walkers due to logistical reasons but Jody has full intentions of making 2016 event something amazing.  In the interim if you want to join their walk programme you can.
